how does sake work?
is that awareness into respect,
into intention,
into action?
sake seems to require memory as a constant,
the work towards a reverence,
some assigned value dedicated over time.
but what is the work of sake?
is this really expectation deeply assigned?
holding one
or an object in a particular light?
namesake,
keepsake,
for goodness sake,
what is that, that is happening?
is there a tethering of reasons?
is it a territorial or a trait,
made somewhat secretly sacred?
it is assigned and then live into as true?
something, held in the mind, is leveraged
and then duly noted as ongoing.
it seems to be a special type of valuing.
somewhat personalized as such
and one then becomes
the guardian there of?
at some level,
aren't all things and people a sake?
is this then all about the eyes
of the beholder?
a privatization of value for personal needs?
although not like superstitions
but in some ways similar?
sort of like an emotional safe deposit box
that is guarded
by memory and reverent words,
like little interior altars to honor
but done in a mindful way.
is that what sake is all about? . . .
