the cruelty of convenience

convenience is a shortcut on everyone,

the takeover of thought-less,

the inattentive expediency 

of pseudo-gratification,

the rituals of presence 

dismissed for objectification.

destination is as if 

the shallow self chasing reward.

there is no tai chi to wanting

only to become 

an endpoint gatherer custodian,

to feature a fascination for monumental, 

as in results,

where expedite is the loudest voice heard, 

where hasten dismisses the embrace 

of the moment,

where the future, as an allure, 

is more than forthcoming,

where all the skills of the present 

are muted, streamlined, 

for the charisma of the end-point 

of nextness is as attraction.

convenience is shallow breathing 

for the evolution of spirit.

monotony names everything 

as bland and futile for focus.

the wealth of being 

takes no experiential brakes,

as if experience is the mentor 

towards convenience modes.

we are all weighted down 

with the medium of convenience.

self as sacred has no short cuts of merit.

each thought is a single flame of light,

running ahead, candle of being aflame, diminishes the light.

convenience is to acquisition, 

as custodial becomes upkeep

all the convenience in the world 

only becomes the sublime of advancement,

but not one iota 

of personal evolutionary worth . . .
