relative worth is a demeaning process,
a myopia of triumph self-accessed,
victimhood self-consciousness priding itself
on the strategic enterprise
of self as conquerer.
comparative truth reduced
to financial stature
is a greased pole
of socially constructed monkey-dom,
where success is revealed as stature
and audience is the backdrop
from framing prestige.
the self story and its rise
to social prominence,
the context becoming a contest
of pseudo success
is a death walk under the allure
of media's lively tunes.
we all learn to speak
a language of ineptness.
we all need entertainment
as medicinal on demand,
as a collective, sharing the overt distraction, as their plan.
then why is devastation
so emotionally transformative
as such a wakeup call
of human intent in high contrast?
when the common ground has self
in service to a cause,
we all need group scull training instead
of jet-sky joyrides.
the self psychology involved
is so widely different.
no one essentially benefits
from the show of self as display
but we all harvest from the collective works when applied.
mindsets are a terrible waste
on personal success
when the methods involved
diminish the worth of others.
a society has one unrealized soul
of connectedness
and the journey, yours and mine,
is that realization
becoming self-evident . . .
