looked for you

I looked for you,

as if my eyes reside

upon a wide ocean vista.

I looked for you then,

then yearned more from my heart,

asking my eyes to search more earnestly.

I looked for you

with less a sense of sweep,

more for the sight of you calling,

to have my eyes find you outright.

I looked for you,

nestled into my empty-vision's grasp,

as a particular quality of being

out of the prism offered.

I looked for you,

the way light that knows me,

finds me by my innocence for looking.

I looked for you,

the way you found my looking,

with my eyes yelling in that heartfelt way.

I looked for you,

way after you had already found me.

I looked for you

until our eyes, in a meltdown, locked in.

then I looked into you,

past all the hearsay gibberish in passing.

I looked into you,

the way that time is dismissed from attendance,

the way that time understands its limitations,

the way that time holds a moment with intent,

the way that time is all gleaming in the surround,

but not as a meaning or measure of what this is.

yes, I looked into you and beyond.

I looked through you,

through the you that our story unfolds,

to where we are before, during and after,

lost in the dedication and the blessedness.

I look at your looking back,

as complete,

to where we are timeless,

where words have no more say,

as experience ends the story of this account.

we dance on,

without the looking taking up any attention.

separation has taken its last out-breath,

for where we've become,

the movement of one . . .
