Laughter is a self-permission,
ignited from within
as this fountaining
of personal presence
from deep in the mind,
while grief is isolation
in an outpouring,
shedding connections
for a payoff of loss
as a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Laughter trumps grief
on the table
where they both are at play
with an outburst of being
over a rejection
as self identified.
