Well, you know yourself
by the “in character” you keep
to interface for you with others.
Well, others’ “in character”
of themselves that is.
Your personal and private
“in character” theme writer
generally has your script in hand
and has built a storyline
and the presence of mind
for you to deliver it.
Others have this presence
in place also.
Sometimes there is vying for topic
for positionality,
or for speak first or speak last.
Each of us wants to be heard.
Sometime we give recognition
to another
especially if their script
somehow interplays into ours.
There can be a continuance
of exchanges
if each of the scriptwriters
is in sync with the other.
Occasionally, there is the risk
of saying something cryptic
and encoded
that goes beyond these projections.
Wildly, at times,
disguises are dropped or forgotten
based on the immediacy at hand.
Even close friends
can fall into this deep
beyond the knowing of the other.
Almost everyone has agreed
that this is the best way to go,
to be who we are
and to have agreement
about it with others.
Surely some are way better at this
then most of the rest
but we sort towards
our skill level and equals.
The journey of knowing oneself
seems well served by this as method.
It is an attempt
at getting to the source of oneself
without getting in each other’s way.
Some have the time and the means
while others seem to get
no true useful answers.
And in the end, as all along the way,
we all agreed to agree,
that you seem to know yourself to be.
Now whither that is
at all really useful to you,
well that is totally
another line of questions . . .
