through the still air
at higher elevations.

become assumption’s blunders.
Sound interpretations that imply
are now founded in a falsehood,
as some sounds
are further away
then readily heard.
Suppositions of the mind
that seek assertion
become inwardly muted.
Some confusion reigns in
as if the senses were misquoted.
A recognition
of recalculation begins.
“Duly noted” becomes
a silent inward reprimand.
As the life
of the receptive mind
weaves and reweaves,
new sensory information is added
to the ongoing record.
A rich world of wonderment
is always offered us every day,
made obvious
by hearing sound
then refining
for its source.
Such is the artfulness
of the listener
noting the qualities
of what sounds
fills the ever stillness.
