At the edge of understanding * 1/20/14


At the edge of understanding                                                                    is not informationally justified.                                          Understanding is apparel of worth                                                            but it is not body heat to body heat.                                                          At the edge of understanding requires reflection                             upon who of you is actually doing that.                                            Some place, supposedly in your head,                                                   is where understanding has it process ongoing.                                It is too quick or too subtle to get a grip on it                                       as if one could, from the start,                                                             and witness that process                                                                        as it is naturally side bar occurring, but not!                                        No one is teaching how to observe and witness                 understanding for what it is as a process.                                           We defend understanding by citing information                                but not by demonstrating a brain style as a means.                      Memory retention can substitute                                                        for understanding status                                                                       by reciting the appropriate keywords,                                            giving a sequence of information in order                                           for what is expected.                                                                            But to think,                                                                                           to first-person think oneself into understanding,                                 how does that actually occur?                                                           And can any one get a grip or a feel                                                   for how that is done                                                                      beyond a content driven demonstration as explanation?                                    Like can I think this along with you without the verbiage                                                                      but with the meta sense of it                                                        flowing along, that will, in time, produce an understanding.          The joy of the excursion of the mind and see what registers,           feel for the means, engender a humble sense                                       of relatedness unfolding.                                                                    This is what I want from understanding, the immersion,                     the swim, the feel-sense, the glide, the grandiose forming,              and a deeper respect for the vacancy necessary                                    to give a permission to be empty                                                          and free to long-form participate.                                                      This is the edginess I want                                                                   from the pre of understanding’s eventual stance . . .
