Without
a retentive mind,
are
there any uncommon occurrences?
What is that that we do
that registers to us as events?
What and
where is that big screen
that we
most intimately watch
our most
recent past upon it
and
remark?
How does
this all experientially work?
This
slow dissipation,
this
lingering of images,
as a
scattered impact
of parts
of a whole,
as that
quick blush,
back
into recent memories
for
expectations to have
a
referential frame?
And expectations,
what are those things
all bundled there,
as if
they were assumptions
dressed
up as homing pigeons,
let out
into a mind's sky?
When did
we have
all of
this ‘gooey function’ installed?
We are
all
high
maintenance pensivity,
readied
for the uncommon
to come
calling,
only to
discover the ventriloquism
buried
deep
within
our own subjectivity.
All of
the uncommon
is
attended to as polished chrome.
It
mirrors as every reaction,
yet we
buff and then behold . . .
