Who, in each of us,
invented the concept
behind the concept of the wheel?
Maybe that is simply the concept
of convenience
or the concept of short cuts,
as in a frame of reference
that deals with myopic immediacies
of what is happening
both outwardly
and quite evidentially
at the expense
and lack of expanse
of inner awareness and centeredness.
It would have been more dynamic,
both as a person and a species,
to have subscribed
to the we’ll instead.
A sense of the collective
beyond mass and trust
as the contractual cohesive
of that mass.
It could have approached
the oneness of the mass,
the empathetic of the mass,
the telepathic of that mass,
the collective unconscious
of that mass evolving.
But instead, we are imprisoned,
each with our own wheel sense
and our personalized hub
of singular solicitation.
All agreed upon necessities
for living towards the good life.
The only way around the mountain
is first to have a mountain
to go around and keep it in frame.
Convenience seems to provide
for some levity
to ascend that mountain
while circumventing it.
Mountain becomes the hub
of our existence moving forward.
We are all that journey
that we then speak of.
We are each individually
the global positioning systems
of all storied accounts we possess.
Tweets are small digestive farts
from that ongoing procession.
To turn a phrase;
What we need is,
less hub and spoke
and more we’ll . . .
