lumens of the day,
is day-life,
between the tide lines of luminosity.
they sweep oncoming,
in the predawn sky
and linger in the bloom
of daylong brightness,
to then sunset
in a disappearing herd,
as they wane,
as if a species of invisibles,
but yet readily present.
all see-throughs by nature,
featuring warmth and a brightness
as their presence.
we all live on that earth-bay,
where we are somewhat beach-bound,
between the highs and the lows
of days getting longer
and then getting shorter.
ever they be the tides of light
that play upon us,
that offer assistance to our sight.
they swim in thick multitudes,
ever on the go,
peaking at high noon
and then ever onward with their flow.
I image them as fireflies without bodies,
yet still casting constant light,
a see-through luminescence,
somehow invisible but fluid.
we all live in their bay.
maybe they feed on surfaces in passing
or just more deeply mass
where surface abides.
I sense them swim in
as if dawn driven
and yet I watch them later in herd,
depart.
if I only knew what to feed them
to have them come more often and stay.
so migratory in a daily way,
princely invisible yet wildly present.
we have such daylight dependency
upon them,
more so, on otherwise weathering days.
it's like daily bathing in liquid light,
basking in sight-filled ways.
I like it early in the day
when they swim on towards me.
and I benefit mightily,
from their traveling rush,
like where two worlds meet
upon common ground.
so blessed with the light
and the warmth provided,
living between these tidelines
of luminosity . . .
