readings from the shadowland
presented by human tells.
intrigued to notice the sentence structures,
from comedies, to spontaneousness,
to pathos, to normatives,
even il-legibles to in-completes.
some readings living the life of their nouns.
some the action-packed life of their verbs,
while others are adjective-bound
and still others
from the causative affect
of their dangling modifiers.
there are reads that present as tentatives,
others would as softly tonals if spoken,
and still others as ever the stay tuned.
some stay in long paragraphs
as if self-ordered,
others never leave the heading of the chapter
and still others that leap off the print of their page.
some have hard covers as personality types.
some are presented as weeklies or monthlies.
but some could live the life of handouts.
some as soft copy circulars,
while some have legibilities as a concern.
not all of the presentations are page worthy.
not everything noticed is clearly seen
in high contrasts of black print
against white background.
page numbers are checked on,
as second thoughts.
the bindings of some narratives are stitched,
while others are somewhat loosely bound.
some stories build,
others travel unevenly,
others are ever the stay tuned.
habits form a kind of punctuation style.
descriptive props can
sometimes clarify the intended themes.
covers hardly ever tell the true story.
it is as if the library of life
is ever the shadow-prints from tells that reveal
as these reads are fashioned out of necessities . . .
