harbinger,
I could never really understand
the word harbinger.
at first,
I thought it had something to do
with where land and water meet.
something, maybe in the likes of a harbor.
and then,
I thought of it as a human activity.
something that's done
with a level of incessancy.
and finally, I thought of it as,
a person,
a person of activity,
a thing that is done
in the form of delivery.
this is an example
of why I have trouble
with words
that are more than one syllable
in length.
meaning is a lot like many flavors
in one scoop,
on a spoken cone . . .
