the rules about sound grandly differ,
as opposed to the rules for substance.
sound has personal freedom in space
that substance does not.
in a time medium,
sound is profoundly advantaged
in any movement sense.
substance is stationary,
requires sight to assist in its presence,
while sound only depends on volume to adventure.
language is the efficiency of its action,
compared to solids, that depend on touch and sight.
there is a massive difference between
the sound barrier and the mass of surface to solids.
comparison seems jocular
yet they co-exist,
and we fully partake.
it's not a wonder
that speech gained such prominence
and that language became the auctioneer
for reality on sale,
and comprehension became the bible of worth.
somehow touch still rivals
but sound does not concede in its position.
yet I can't ask for a speech massage
and get the same impact or results as touch offers.
but if you hum in direct contact with my skin,
I will have to deliberately ponder . . .
