reveling in breath.
wind tides that rise and fall.
imaginary kites in the mind,
that indirectly survive in flight,
based on the strength of that breeze.
unassumed but in passing.
making the mind breath-conscious,
as if a stairway to heaven,
yet all handrails disappear.
the stairs get steeper.
the foot-placements less secured.
eventual levity is in order.
ascension occurs,
but looses its relative frame of reference.
heaven has no arrival medium.
the presumption of location ends.
does all of this
just take your breath away?
as in, you are as you breathe
and your self-consciousness
is only afterthoughts? . . .
