eventually everyone is an elder orphan.
wether it is time-based
or isolation presenting.
memory makes for familial account
yet relating to oneself about it
has certain orphan attributes to it.
one can be the voice of elder
until it becomes a monologue,
when one is overhearing of oneself alone.
elder orphan is a sense of self displacement.
one is in need of a magic carpet override
when time is the fog
that appears to be closing in.
a forest of one tree standing
can only account
for the current lay of the land
and not of the tree of itself.
one's wisdom remains speechless
and carries light onward from within.
no wardrobe of age or relatedness captures
the spirit of the being.
elder orphan is a dismissible costume to wear
for the party of living at hand . . .
